The forestry firm – involved in the production and sale of fast-growing poplar – announced yesterday that it had until July 9 this year to repay its debt. This replaces an earlier extension to June 9 granted by Liberty Harbor. It was first announced in May 2007 that Guangzhao Industrial had entered into an agreement for the issue of US$8 million convertible bonds due 2011 to Liberty Harbor part of Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Tenneco Forms Joint Venture With BHAP in China

Tenneco will serve as the majority owner with a 51% equity stake and the Beijing Hainachuan Automotive Parts Company (BHAP) will own the remaining 49%. Foreign models stabbed by man of mental problems in Guangzhou

The alleged stabber aged about 25 years is accused of jumping on to the runway and chasing the models knifing them in the arms and legs. Guangzhou in Guangdong province is proposing a law to ban passengers taking anything with an unusual smell on buses in the city. New air-purifying equipment will also be installed to improve air quality in buses according to the Guangzhou Municipal Transportation Committee.

Instead of laying lots of expensive land lines first as had been done in the west they directly leapfrogged into cell phone use. China is now number one in cell phone ownership in the world. China has been number one in battery powered motorcycles (dian dong che) for some time and anyone who has visited the major cities (and secondary ones too) with the exception of Guangzhou will see what I mean. They are a clean energy alternative to gas powered motorcycles (and cars). So now they want to use this battery technology expertise to power cars. Every major auto company is now investing a large part of their R&D into battery technology. The goal is to have this up and running in 10 years time.
